I have been in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg school system since I was a child. I attended Beverly Woods Elementary, Barringer and Carmel Junior High before moving to the DC area for my high school years. Upon graduation from UVA, I returned to Charlotte and taught for six years at Carmel Middle School in both a 7th and 8th grade language arts classroom. I completed my Masters in Educational Administration and moved into an assistant principal position at Northeast Middle School before transferring to open a new middle school, Mint Hill, in 2003. In 2007, I moved to Ardrey Kell High School where I served as an assistant principal for one year before becoming the principal here at CHMS. My husband is also an administrator and, when we are not talking education, we enjoy spending our free time with our two boys, Parker and Carson. Our family enjoys taking summer road trips together. We have driven across country to Los Angeles, stopping everywhere in between. Last summer we drove to Yellowstone with side trips through the Black Hills and Jackson Hole. This summer we are planning to head north to Niagra Falls and Canada. Making memories is something I believe is most important and hope that we are able to do for all of our students at CHMS.
